A Special Adventure at the Iowa State Fair

Adventures matter, and the ability to get away and hit the road can mean a celebration or turning point in a child’s course of cancer treatment. To support families battling childhood cancer, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation offers “A Special Adventure” in partnership with Children’s Cancer Connection as a way to provide families access to an all-Iowa weekend getaway to make memories together and have fun.

Registration for 2026 trips will open March 8 and close April 11. 

7 families will be granted. Any CCC family (including families who have lost a child to cancer) with a child 18 or younger still living at home is eligible to apply, provided they have not been on a previous Special Adventure. The Iowa State Fair Adventure will be August 14-16.
