DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Children’s Cancer Connection’s Exploration Expedition is set to depart again this spring! This year\, they will be traveling to the Dubuque area. Activities will include touring the Field of Dreams baseball field\, the 4th Street Elevator and the National Mississippi River Museum. Teens ages 13 through graduating seniors are invited. It will be held April 10-12. SUMMARY:2026 Spring Family Camp
DESCRIPTION:The whole family gets to join the fun for a weekend at the 2026 Spring Family Camp. The relaxing getaway includes traditional camp activities\, sightseeing\, campfires\, s’mores and precious quality time together. It’s also great for younger kids to experience Family Camp before attending other CCC camps on their own. We also love seeing young families (babies/toddlers welcome) who’s kids are still a few years away from being able to attend other CCC programs. \nSpring Family Camp is April 24-26. DESCRIPTION:Caregiver Connect\, formerly Comfort Connection\, is a time for caregivers of an oncology child to connect with others that share that experience. All caregivers are welcome to attend\, regardless of treatment outcome of the child. The evening events are casual and community organically builds over conversation while sharing a meal or doing something fun together. The location and activities change each time! Activities including rock wall climbing\, arts and crafts\, horseback riding\, Wish Night and more. A week of summer camp is something every child should be able to experience. Oncology Camp allows for children who are on or off treatment to attend a week full of exciting summer camp activities\, bond with those on similar journeys and make lifelong friends! Medical staff are present at camp all week to support medical management or other medical needs! DESCRIPTION:Day Camp is for both the child diagnosed with cancer and siblings ages 5-12. Days are filled with summer fun and spending time with friends at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Home for Hope in Johnston and throughout the Des Moines Metro. Kids enjoy a healthy mix of activities at CCC as well as field trips to places such as the Blank Park Zoo\, the Science Center of Iowa and more. SUMMARY:A Special Adventure at the Iowa State Fair
DESCRIPTION:Adventures matter\, and the ability to get away and hit the road can mean a celebration or turning point in a child’s course of cancer treatment. To support families battling childhood cancer\, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation offers “A Special Adventure” in partnership with Children’s Cancer Connection as a way to provide families access to an all-Iowa weekend getaway to make memories together and have fun. \nRegistration for 2026 trips will open March 8 and close April 11.  \n7 families will be granted. Any CCC family (including families who have lost a child to cancer) with a child 18 or younger still living at home is eligible to apply\, provided they have not been on a previous Special Adventure. DESCRIPTION:Camp Heart Connection’s Teen Camp is a truly special experience offered to all teens served by CCC. CCC recognizes that our teens face unique medical and emotional challenges\, and they build strength from being together during their journeys. Teen Camp allows teens who are on or off treatment as well as siblings to come together for a weekend of camp activities. They get to meet new friends and visit with existing ones. \n2026 Teen Camp will be held October 23-25 at Wildwood Hills Ranch Retreat center in St. Charles\, IA.
