SUMMARY:Holiday Drop-Off Teen Lock-In Session
DESCRIPTION:Children’s Cancer Connection’s Holiday Drop-Off is an annual program for teens ages 13 – high school seniors to connect with one another. This event also gives parents a chance to recharge or go holiday gift shopping while teens make holiday-themed crafts\, decorate cookies\, drink hot chocolate and enjoy each other’s company! This Holiday Drop-Off event will end in a teen lock-in! \nCCC teens (oncology and siblings) ages 13 through graduating high school seniors are invited to the lock-in at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Home for Hope. After the Holiday Drop-Off fun will include dinner\, way too many snacks\, games\, conversation and maybe some sleep. DESCRIPTION:Comfort Connection is a time for caregivers of an oncology child to connect with others that are on a similar journey. All caregivers are welcome to attend\, regardless of treatment outcome of the child. SUMMARY:Exploration Expedition 2024
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Children’s Cancer Connection staff and volunteers shuttle and chaperone teens to various parts of Iowa to adventure and explore during Exploration Expedition (EE). This is a free weekend program which brings CCC teens from all over the state together. \nThis year\, from the evening of Friday\, March 22 through the later morning/early afternoon of Sunday\, March 24\, the CCC Exploration Expedition will be heading to Burlington! Visit a wildlife farm\, see the infamous Snake Alley\, stop by a dairy farm and live it up at Fun City! There will be time to hang out at the hotel for swimming\, chatting and games as well. Transportation\, meals and housing will be provided at no cost to participants and thanks to Lead Supporter Variety – the Children’s Charity. Pick-ups and drop-offs will take place in Johnston and Coralville. This trip for CCC youth ages 13 through graduating seniors is sure to be fun\, meaningful and memorable. \nVolunteers ages 21+ can see shift availability and/or sign up through the CCC volunteer platform. \n \n  \n
