DESCRIPTION:Caregiver Connect\, formerly Comfort Connection\, is a time for caregivers of an oncology child to connect with others that share that experience. All caregivers are welcome to attend\, regardless of treatment outcome of the child. The evening events are casual and community organically builds over conversation while sharing a meal or doing something fun together. The location and activities change each time! DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Children’s Cancer Connection’s Exploration Expedition is set to depart again this spring! This year\, they will be traveling to the Dubuque area. Activities will include touring the Field of Dreams baseball field\, the 4th Street Elevator and the National Mississippi River Museum. Teens ages 13 through graduating seniors are invited. It will be held April 10-12. DESCRIPTION:Children’s Cancer Connection’s Holiday Drop-Off is an annual program for teens ages 13 – high school seniors to connect with one another. This event also gives parents a chance to recharge or go holiday gift shopping while teens make holiday-themed crafts\, decorate cookies\, drink hot chocolate and enjoy each other’s company! This Holiday Drop-Off event will end in a teen lock-in! \nCCC teens (oncology and siblings) ages 13 through graduating high school seniors are invited to the lock-in at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Home for Hope. After the Holiday Drop-Off fun will include dinner\, way too many snacks\, games\, conversation and maybe some sleep. DESCRIPTION:Comfort Connection is a time for caregivers of an oncology child to connect with others that are on a similar journey. All caregivers are welcome to attend\, regardless of treatment outcome of the child. Comfort Connection occurs every other month and consists of gatherings at the CCC office in Johnston\, as well as fun outings throughout the Des Moines metro area. \nRegistration is required. \n2025 October Event \nCome for some friendly trivia competition\, yummy food and time together at Backpocket Pin & Pixel. We will (casually) participate in the bar-wide trivia and have dinner together. Arrive by 5:45 PM\, trivia starts at 6! \nChildcare will be provided at the CCC office\, starting at 5:30 PM for those that need it. \nREGISTER HERE> \nVolunteers ages 16 and up are needed to assist with childcare.
